Hi! I’m Christy, the Agency owner at Mom Approved Travel and an expert Travel Advisor, Certified Autism Travel Professional and Certified Travel Associate (CTA) with the Travel Institute, the only recognized institute for travel agents to prove their level of expertise. 

Born in Texas, I have lived in the United States most of my life, but have also lived in Canada. I settled back near Houston, Texas and have explored the Caribbean, Mexico and much of the United States with my husband and two children. One of my greatest joys is seeing destinations and experiences through the eyes of my children as they grow.

My career as a Travel Advisor began in 2015. Before stepping into the role of a full-time Travel Advisor and Agency Owner, I worked for many years in Land Development in the homebuilding Industry. My strengths for problem solving, research, collaboration, advocating, and communication coupled with my straightforward but friendly nature have been instrumental in forming our Mom Approved Travel processes and customer journey.

I love spending my vacation time in the Disney and Universal theme parks, on a beach somewhere warm and sunny, or on a cruise ship so I can escape cooking or doing laundry! This is where the Mom Approved Travel mission statement came from: “We believe Mom gets a vacation too.” This means we are committed to helping busy parents actually enjoy their vacation instead of doing all the things.

I also really love working with small businesses, groups of friends and large extended families to take away the drama and confusion of planning a big vacation, group trip, or a leisure or reward/incentive trip. Helping an Office Manager or team Mom plan and coordinate a trip is like taking care of the group Mom!

The hardest part of my job is keeping well-intended Moms, Dads and Grandmas from shoving 20 pounds of fun into a 10 pound sack when it comes to vacation planning! I will help you prioritize what matters to your people, know where to save, where to splurge, what to not miss and what you can skip. I will also (lovingly) have the hard conversation with you about adding in a break if your itinerary looks like it needs it. I’ll have your back and be your advocate.

I think you’ll find our process may look a little different, as we look at the whole picture of your vacation. We also  plan with busy Moms and Dads in mind, understanding some are detail oriented, and some are skim readers. Not only do we create a vacation unique to your family, our process will keep you informed no matter how much information you like to process!
