Everything we know about SUPER NINTENDO WORLD in Universal Epic Universe
We are looking forward to the opening of Universal Orlando Resort fourth themed park, Epic Universe, and its new lands in 2025!
Today we are taking a closer look at everything we know so far about what the SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ themed land in Orlando will include. Yes, there is a SUPER MARIO LAND™ at Universal Hollywood already, but this land will have many of the same elements, BUT it will be bigger and include additional attractions and dining option unique to Universal Orlando!
Everyone has a favorite Nintendo game, and Universal has made sure to include many of your favorite characters in this new land!
You’ll literally be able to step into the worlds of some of the most iconic video games and enter the new land through the iconic green pipe from your favorite Mario Bros games. This land takes immersion to a whole new elaborate level, and what you have only done in video games will become reality!
Mine-Cart Madness™ (coaster attraction)
Donkey Kong Country™ will instantly transport you back to a childhood arcade game, as all guests over 36″ tall (children under 48″ will need to be accompanied by a supervising companion) will speed through the Majestic Golden Temple mine track to help Donkey Kong protect the Golden Banana.
This family coaster will utilize ground-breaking technology and a unique design taking your mine cart through the Donkey Kong Country video game and make you feel like you are jumping across the track, without ANY video screens.
Most Universal Orlando attractions with a height requirement have a ride swap option, and its likely this one will too, but nothing official is posted.
Yoshi's Adventure (kid-friendly ride)
Get ready for a super cute family friendly ride geared for riders over 36″ tall (children under 48″ will need to be accompanied by a supervising companion) on Yoshi’s Adventure™!
Here, your family will ride through the iconic Mushroom Kingdom of your childhood, spotting favorite Nintendo characters, elements and the glowing eggs hidden throughout your path as you search for Captain Toad from atop Mount Beanpole with SUPER views of SUPER MARIO LAND.
Mario Kart™: Bowser’s Challenge (ride)
This ride utilizes cutting edge-technology, and you will wear special goggles to utilize on this 3D & 4D ride as you battle Team Bowser alongside Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach as you steer through courses underwater and in the clouds collecting coins and throwing shells to win the ultimate prize, the Golden cup!
Augmented reality, projection mapping and elaborate themed environments help create this immersive experience! Mario Kart Bowser’s Challenge has a 40″ height requirement, and again like most rides with a height requirement at Universal Orlando, this will likely have a rider swap option as well.
Toadstool Cafe™ (dining)
We expect the menu for the CUTEST spot inside SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ to be very similiar to the menu offered at Universal Hollywood with items such as: Mario and Luigi-themed burgers, Fire Flower Spaghetti and Meatballs, Super Mushroom Soup, and more.
Chef Toad has invited you into his home to indulge in dishes he’s cooked up while guests will be able to watch playful scenes inside the Mushroom Kingdom via the screen-based virtual windows while you grab tasty treats at the Toadstool Cafe™.
Chances are, this will be one of your kiddo’s favorite dining options in a fun, immersive counter service with themed bites. It’s California counterpart utilizes a waitlist or virtual queue on busier days, and we expect the same here.
Two other fun unique food options will open: Yoshi’s Snack Island and Turbo Boost Treats, but we do not have menus just yet!
Meet your favorite Nintendo characters (character meet)
There will be fun photo opportunities to put on your best overalls as you meet your favorite Nintendo characters, slated to include: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad up close at a themed character meet and greet.
If you love the Super Mario Bros™ franchise, you are going to absolutely LOVE this new land at Universal Epic Universe with three new attractions which will allow you to be completely immersed into the world of Super Mario™ and make your childhood dreams come true! Feel like you are IN a Donkey Kong game? Take a selfie with Mario? The 10 year old in us says, YES please!
The 1-UP Factory and Mario Motors retail shops will carry themed souvenirs, toys, apparel and more.
Don’t forget, you’ll also be able to use Power Up bands like in Universal Hollywood, which allows you to feel you are in an actual video game to punch “?” boxes and bricks, uncover secret items and fully compete in challenges and games by tapping points and collecting gifts. Your Power-Up Band is an optional purchase that will work with the Universal Orlando app to keep track of your coins, keys and stamps.
